Note générale
The Kingston Peninsula Telephone Company was founded in 1911 by brothers Raymond P. Gorham and Adino R. Gorham. Upon his return from Montreal, Raymond Gorham brought two telephones and with his brother installed them to link the house to the outside barn. This soon led to the installation of a line to the neighbouring MacCleery farm which enabled the households to communicate with each other.
The technology interested other residents on the Peninsula and persuaded them to form a company to provide telephone service to the residents of the Kingston Peninsula. On April 29th, 1913, the company was formally established.
