Esther Elizabeth Rogers was born 4 October 1894 in Northampton, Carleton County, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Harrison Wilmot Rogers (1859-1945) and Emily Elizabeth Knox (1865-1941). She attended public schools in her home community and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1910. She also took piano lessons locally from Mrs. George True and Mrs. Adney of Woodstock, New Brunswick. She attended the Mount Allison Ladies’ College during 1914-1915, taking elocution and music. She subsequently taught piano privately in Northampton. She married John Allan Draper (1891-1944) on 28 May 1918. He was the son of Gilbert Abram Draper (1859-1938) and Alice Maude Price (1861-1928) of Northampton. He attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Esther Rogers died 23 February 1919 in Woodstock, New Brunswick a victim of Spanish influenza. She is buried in the Northampton Kirk Cemetery near Woodstock, New Brunswick.
