Jane (Welock) Garnett was born around 1946 to George and Jean Welock, the owners of the Loon Bay Lodge. Loon Bay Lodge is a hunting and fishing retreat located along the St. Croix River in the parish of Saint James, Charlotte County, New Brunswick. Jane (Welock) Garnett grew up in this unique environment, after her parents purchased the lodge and established it as a business in 1948. Her memories of this experience are recorded in a book titled “Loon Bay Lodge: A History & Memoir”. Later, she would marry Peter A. Garnett, an accountant who assisted her mother Jean Welock with the operation of Loon Bay Lodge after George Welock passed away in May of 1976. She also worked for a time as a secretary on the Charlotte County Archives Board of Directors.
