Historique de la conservation
When the PEI Dragway opened in 1971, Glenn took his 1969 Dart down the strip and won his first trophy; he was hooked.
In 1972, he bought a 1971 Duster, which he named "Teaser". He campaigned in the G/SA; it seemed to have potential. In 1973, he went into the Super Stock competition.
Glenn was a one-man team at the track. Each week, just before classification closes, he would motor in to the track just in time to set the valves, check the timing and take his "Teaser", down the strip to get set for the Super Stock eliminations. The teaser had an SS/1A 340 cubic engine, and it had the very best of equipment.
He was like many other racers, just on the edge of success.
An avid drag racer at Raceway Park, racing motorcycles, drag cars and snowmobiles. Over the years, he ran brackets with a snowmobile equipped with wheels. Sometimes, dragged raced them all on the same day. He would even disconnect his truck from the haul trailer and race the truck. The only thing he didn't race was his trailer.
It was common to hear his name "Glenn Coles to the ramp" as he juggled his race fleet.
His fellow peers saw him as a "dedicated sport," one who would race forever until the clock or the car broke.
His wife, Linda, was his biggest fan.
