The fonds consist of a typescript copy of the diary kept by Abigail Chipman Ryerson, wife of Captain John K. Ryerson, during a voyage by sailing ship from Saint John, New Brunswick, to Greenock, Scotland, and back. The voyage began on 27 August and the last entry in the diary was made on 19 December 1847 at Brier Island where the vessel was stayed by a snowstorm.

The diary includes descriptions of everyday life on a ship from a female point of view, including such activities as quilting, sewing, knitting, and cooking. She also mentions Partridge Island, noting the recent arrivals of Irish immigrants there. There is a description of an encounter 24 November 1847 with the abandoned and waterlogged remains of the "Cumbria of Gloucester", located at latitude 50, longitude 40.

These fonds contain genealogical documents on the Mowat family of St. Andrews New Brunswick. These contain information on Captain David Mowat and his brother Captain John “Hurricane Jack” Mowat of Orkney Island, Scotland and their descendants.

This collection contains a genealogy chart which maps the descendants of David Craig and Mary Steele, Loyalist settlers from Scotland who settled in the Chamcook region of Charlotte County, New Brunswick.

Fonds consists of Montessori student and teacher notebooks on sewing and colour lessons, and a kindergarten album containing examples of paper cutting, paper folding, embossing, plaiting, sewing, and interlacing; a textbook for needlework, knitting and cutting out; photographs of Elizabeth Paterson and family, Teacher Training College class, colleagues, and housing in South Africa; and 2 postcards.

This collection contains articles published in the St. Croix Courier which were part of a series written by F.E. McConvey titled “In-Laws, Outlaws, and Kinfolk”. This series of articles was dedicated to genealogical research into the families of Charlotte County, New Brunswick. Articles could provide advice to readers on how to conduct genealogical research for themselves, but could also contain the results of other people’s genealogical research and the stories of how that information was found.

This fonds consists of John Beckett's journal of a voyage to Glasgow on board the "Adept of Glasgow" in 1858. There is also a typewritten transcript of the journal and a photocopy of John Beckett's obituary, 1889. The diary records daily activities and notes about his trip home, his first since emigrating. He had visits with his mother, brothers Alexander and Hugh, uncles and aunts, cousins and friends.
