History

The St. Mary's and Gibson Belgian and Soldier Relief Society functioned in St. Mary's and Gibson, New Brunswick (now part of the city of Fredericton), during World War I, raising money for the purchase of food, clothing and other items for the relief of Canadian soldiers fighting at the Front in Europe. In Feburary 1915 the society held a musical concert for this purpose. The concert was deemed a success with approximately $50 being realized.
