Administrative history

The Saint John Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Association is the local branch of a national organization in Saint John, New Brunswick. The local association has had a number of names; Saint John Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis; the Saint John Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association and in 1977 the organization changed its name to the Lung Association. The Chest Clinic in the East Saint John Hospital (Tuberculosis Hospital) on Bayside Drive gave monthly reports to the association. The biggest fundraising campaign was the Christmas Seal campaign which began in 1908.

Scope and content

This fonds consists of a complete set of minutes and annual reports. There is also a bank book, scrapbooks and estate papers relating to Arthur B. McIntosh, 1952-1960, Madeline R. Daley, 1970 and Lillian R. Russell, 1970.
