Cushing family

Fonds consists primarily of Eileen Cushing's papers with other family records. It includes her correspondence and accounts as well as her speeches, notes and other writings. There are family property deeds and some records and business correspondence of the Sulphite Fibre Company.

Cushing family genealogical information includes newspaper obituaries and press clippings, invitations, records of funerals and marriages, Sunday school tracts, pew rentals and records of church membership. Eileen Cushing's papers on Loyalists and early settlers and George S. Cushing's diaries, 1873-1904, are also included.

This fonds consists of financial and accounting records, including the time books of David Catte, cabinet maker who did much of the fine finishing work for Emery and a record book of the plans (900) with names of customers for whom furniture was designed. There are also 800 workbench plans, a scrapbook of designs, negatives, glass slides and drawings. A copy of "Cabinet Makers Assistant" (London: Blackie & Son, 1863) is also included.

This fonds consists of shipping, business and family papers of the Brown and Marr families of West Quaco. The shipping documents relate mainly to the vessels "Saguenay", "Lepreau", "Savannah", "Lancefield", "Kelverdale", "Lizzie C. Troop", and "Kate F. Troop" and their captains, Elisha Brown and Omar P. Brown.

The family papers include correspondence, accounts and ephemeral items. Some of the letters were written by family members from ports in Britain, the West Indies, South America and the United States while on their voyages."
