Biographical history
Robert Jones was a dealer in flour, tea, sugar, groceries, provisions, oats, feed and produce. His store was located on the corner of Main and Acadia Streets, Portland, Saint John County, New Brunswick. The general grocery business was established by John Campbell, in 1852, with Jones taking possession in 1868. Robert Jones is a native of Queens County, N.B., and came to Portland in 1868. He was a member of the Civic Council of Portland.
