The Moncton Museum hosts a collection of artefacts and photographs recounting the region’s history. Many of these objects are part of the Museum’s permanent collection. This exhibit relates Moncton’s history from the time of the Mi’kmaq to today. There are treasures to discover from the period preceding the Deportation of Acadians, the time when agriculture was Moncton’s primary economic engine, the golden shipbuilding years and the railway era.

The Moncton Museum has a large collection of historical photographs and archival documents pertaining to the history of the Greater Moncton region. Genealogical records include printed census returns for Westmorland and Albert Counties, Moncton city directories and other related histories. The Museum has a research library for the use of staff and the visiting public. Those who wish to consult the archives are required to make an appointment by contacting Resurgo Place.
