Custodial history

This item was part of the Grindstone Museum set up by Herbert C. Read in the “Carriage House” of the Marshlands Inn. In the mid-1980s Mr. Read dismantled the display and donated its contents to the Town of Sackville. These items were then passed on to the Tantramar Heritage Trust in January 1999, along with various Read Stone Co. artifacts.

Scope and content

Item is a photograph of the Read home on Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (currently (2009) Marshland’s Inn) before repairs were made between 1905 and 1908. An unidentified girl stands in front of the house holding a pair of snowshoes.
