  • Attributions and conjectures: Kate "Kitty" Stanley (1916-2008) was born Kate Douglass and grew up in Stanley, N.B. Her upbringing culminated on Waterloo Row in Fredericton, where she routinely had access to fine music and art. After finishing Normal School, she obtained a teaching position in North Head, Grand Manan, NB, where she met her future husband, Clifford Stanley, in 1934.
