This fonds contains diaries and letters written by Catherine, Margaret and Jessie Loggie, the daughters of Alexander and Catherine Loggie. The writers express concerns about young women embarking on a career in teaching and comment upon a ten day's trip to the interior of Norway as well as a voyage from Rimouski (Quebec) to Calcutta via Liverpool.

This fonds contains the administrative records of St. Mary's Chapel-of-Ease and of its various groups and associations. It consists of a register of confirmations (1887), registers of services, record books of contributions, and a record book of loans. Also included are minutes of the Parochial Guild and Women's Association, the Women's Association (senior and girls' branches), and the Rural Deanery, as well as a treasurer's book for the Women's Association (girls' branch) and a few pieces of correspondence relating to the Deanery. The register of services for 1921-1964 also contains entries for St. Paul's Church. Architectural plans and drawings of St. Mary's Chapel-of-Ease were transferred to the Map Section.

J.B. Snowball letter

This letter is dated 1887 to John Brown from J.B. Snowball, manager of the Chatham Branch Railway notifying Mr. Brown that his claims of property damage by the railway was to be heard by jury summoned under "An Act To Incorporate The Chatham Branch Railway". A meeting was scheduled at the Police Magistrate's Office on 19 September 1887 at 11:00 am.

John R. McCulley

The fonds consists of a diary kept by John R. McCulley during service in the Boer War. It includes a description of the voyage from Halifax, Nova Scotia. in February 1900, daily life aboard ship, arrival in Capetown, South Africa, and troop movements from March to December 1900 as well as details of the return voyage to Canada. There are some names soldiers killed in action and names of wounded, including the nature of their injuries. There is mention of outbreaks of enteric fever, including the author's own, place names such as Bloomfontein and Pretoria. There is a list of dates, with South African locations or engagements and remarks which were taken from the official record of the 1st Battalion, Canadian Mounted Rifles plus a few other facts pertinent to this unit including numbers of wounded and killed in action.

Ethel Anderson

A series of six albums of 1,527 postcards collected by Ethel Anderson from 1905 to c.1911 and were donated by the executors of her estate as stipulated in her will and a series of 26 leather postcards.

Postcard Album

Series contains 86 postcards placed in an album in no particular order. The dated postcards range from 1906 to 1913, and were primarily addressed to Mrs. Walter I. Dixon [Jane Gillis], and also to Mr. Walter I. Dixon and Raymond Dixon. Postcards were sent from a number of relatives and friends. A number of the postcards depict locations in Canada as well as the United States. Most of the postcards contain messages.

St. Thomas University fonds

The fonds consists mainly of financial and administrative records for St. Thomas University and its predecessor institution, St. Thomas College. Financial records, including account books, ledgers, and bank books, 1910-1957. Administrative records include correspondence about the payment of tuition fees for students under programs of the Indian Affairs Branch, the Department of National Defence and the Department of Veterans' Affairs, 1949-1959, along with a listing of boarders and day scholars of St. Thomas College, 1910-1911, a copy of the constitution of the Students' Union of St. Thomas University, 1968-1969, a report entitled, "Residence Regulations - Men, St. Thomas University, Fredericton [1960s?], and a few other records.

Also included are printed brochures; souvenir programmes; biographical sketches of 11 priests (Rogers, Costello, Ploude, Reath, Pageau, Sheridan, Roach (2), Finnigan, Meader, and Pickett); a very few newspaper articles [1960s?]; and 4 photographs of building construction on the Fredericton campus.

There are also St. Thomas College / St. Thomas University calendars, dating from the 1911-1912 academic year to the 1985-1986 academic year, either in hard copy, on microfilm, or in both forms. Several years are missing in this run, more specifically, 1919-1920; 1920-1921; 1921-1922; 1924-1925; 1926-1927; 1928-1929; 1931-1932; and 1936-1937.

The fonds contains a few records relating to the university's student newspaper, "The Aquinian". There are 6 issues (originals) of "The Aquinian" (October, November, and December, 1964; February 1965; 13 February 1967; and 25 March 1968); several draft articles; an issue of "Nike", the newspaper's literary supplement (1965); and a few other records.

Student files, dating from 1914-1983, on microfilms F11808-F11812 are restricted. St. Thomas University faculty meeting minutes, 1967-1982, and St. Thomas University Senate minutes, 1968-3 June 1982, are available only on microfilm F11813.
