Biographical history

Connecticut doctor and merchant, Norman Morrison was a surgeon with the British colonial troops during the seige of the French fortress at Louisbourg in 1745.

Custodial history

Norman Morrison's letterbook was probably brought to New Brunswick by Loyalists at the end of the American Revolutionary War. The letterbook was on loan to the New Brunswick Museum at the time these extracts were copied. The remainder of the letterbook deals exclusively with prescriptions and hospital accounts.
