This series consists of records relating to the activities of Captain Nehemiah Marks Sr. and Lieutenant Colonel of the 4th Battalion Charlotte County Militia, including correspondence, government circulars, financial accounts, field inspection returns.
Also included are reports and correspondence regarding deserters from the 97th Infantry Regiment, submitted by Lieutenant Colonel Nehemiah Marks as Justice of the Peace, with remarks on the prevalence of the problem of desertion in the Colonies.
