Biographical history
Humanist and educator Malcolm Ross was born at Fredericton, New Brunswick on 2 January 1911. He edited the New Canadian Library series and taught at a number of Canadian universities.
His first scholarly writing, "Milton's Royalism,' was first published in 1943. Later works include: "Poetry and Dogma" (1954, 1969), "Our Sense of Identity" (1954), "The Arts in Canada" (1958), and "The Impossible Sum of Our Traditions" (1986). Ross has been an active member of the Canada Council, the Royal Society of Canada, and the Humanities Association of Canada. In 1988, Malcolm MacKenzie Ross is living in Canada.
