History

Lester Milberry was born 5th January 1926 in the Province of Nova Scotia. He served during the Second world War with the 8th New Brunswick Hussars. During that time, he was awarded the Italy star and Campaign Star. He also was attached as a driver with a British Armoured regiment. He continued his service with the 8th Canadian Hussars RECCE squadron in Germany, Cyprus, and as RSM in Egypt. He was the a member of the Guidon party when His Excellency, the right Honourable Governor General Vanier presented the 8th Canadian Hussars with their Guidon in 1966. Milberry went on to serve with the Royal Canadian Dragoons, retiring as Regimental Sergeant Major. He died in the Pembroke hospital in 1992.
