History

Thomas Lennox, a corporal in the 76th Regiment of Infantry, was born at Magherafelt parish, Londonderry county, Northern Ireland, around 1828. He enlisted at Edinburgh in 1847 at the age of 18 and served about 5 years in the Mediterranean before being sent to Fredericton, New Brunswick. He served about four and a half years there until his discharge in 1857. He had been a corporal for about one year at that time.
