Biographical history
"Squire" John Cliff Price (1818-1903) of Havelock, New Brunswick, was a shopkeeper and justice of the peace for Kings County. His parents were John Rix Price and Margaret Cliff, both grandchildren of the pre-Loyalist or Planter, Edmund Price of Marysville. He married Mary Isabelle Woodman of Kentville, Nova Scotia.
Custodial history
A court book, 1852-1874, containing notes of court cases and judgments was donated in the same accession and transferred to Government Records.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of John C. Price's account book, 1866-1874, for groceries and drygoods. Customers are named and their purchases listed.
