A number of pages are headed with an individual’s name, followed by transaction records listing dates, services, cost, and payments. Payments to employees as well as other business records are included. An index of names is located at the front of the ledger.

This fonds consists mainly of correspondence among members of the various branches of Pollok and Gilmour, especially to and from Alexander Rankin of Rankin and Gilmour.

It also includes personal financial records of Alexander and Robert Rankin and North American travel diaries of Allen Gilmour, Jr. and Sr. and William Ritchie, dating from 1828 to 1829, and a report on the proceedings at the Prince of Wales' Challenge Cup competition (1862).

This fonds contains correspondence; sales statements; 2 tidetable books, 1925 and 1938; several entries of business interests other than fishing or boat building; and papers occurred in the building of a new house in 1940-1942; records and memorabilia from Gleason Green's membership in the Knights of Pythias Lodge and his travels to Scandinavia, Newfoundland, St. Pierre, Iceland, and the Magdalene Islands.
