A booklet for an exhibit at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery titled "Ministers Island in Small Pieces". The exhibit is of paintings by Cathy Ross of artifacts from Ministers Island belonging to the Van Horne family. The booklet contains photos of the paintings, as well as a message from curator John Leroux, and a message and biography from artist Cathy Ross.

Development Plans

Development plans and studies for Ministers Island, which outline plans for the development of the island into a Provincial Park or other cultural resource which maintains the island's historic character. These documents outline proposals for the future of the island, discuss the cost and resources necessary to achieve their goals in detail, as well as the cost of maintaining the island, plan future attractions for visitors, and outline the natural and cultural resources on the island. Maps and statistical data are often appended.

Essays

A pair of essays on the history of Ministers Island. These include an essay titled "Minister's Island, Charlotte County, N.B." by Carol-Ann Nicholson, Chief of Research, Research and Development, Historical Resources Administration. This essay examines the history of human habitation on the island from 500 B.C. in the Aceramic period to the period of national expansion and development when the Van Horne family owned the island. It also features a description of the main Van Horne family residence on the island.

The other essay is titled "History of Ministers Island - or - 3000 Years of a Unique Portion of Canadian History - or - The Island of Delight". This essay also discusses the history of human habitation on Ministers Island, with a particular focus on the life of Sir William Van Horne, with many anecdotes from his life.

Interview with Wade Veinotte Transcript

A complete transcript of an interview between Janet Toole and Wade Veinotte which was conducted on June 9 1993 at the Charlotte County Gaol doorsteps. The interview concerns Wade Veinotte's time working for Norm Langdon on Ministers Island, as well as his own family history, and stories he knows about the island when the Van Horne family were living on it.
