This fonds consists of staff registers listing engineers and firemen employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company; letter books containing CPR staff appointments; a payroll book including the salaries received by Carleton County residents; timetables; staff bulletins containing news about company operations; and publications of "The Spanner," a magazine published by the CPR, issues dating from 1848-1864 .

Walter Scammel on July 26 1884 do not have the plague or any other dangerous or contagious disease ; Scammell Brothers charter party on November 18 1884 from New York to Dunkirk, France ; the Bark also sailed to Buenoas Ayres for the some of $60 gold dated November 6, 1887 ; final Charter is dated July 23, 1888 and directs ship from Amsterdaam to New York.
This fonds consists of the records of the planning phase of the Central Railway Company's development. It includes letters to the secretary of the company, Julius Inches, from the directors, including Charles Burpee, MP, John Ferris, MP, Alexander (Boss) Gibson, and C.A. Wetmore; petitions for funds and rails to both the provincial and federal governments; some estimates and surveys of the route. Much of the correspondence comes from Caleb Wetmore who pursued a suit in the equity courts against the company between 1884-1887.
This fonds consists of historical correspondence, reports, acts, agreements and other material about New Brunswick railways. There are monthly payrolls of Salisbury and Harvey Railway, 1898-1901; accounts of the Albert Railway, 1877-1882; cancelled cheques and promissory notes of the N.B. Railway Co., 1884-1887; and records of the Northern and Western Railway Co., Railway Extension Co., and Cumberland Railway and Coal Co. The collection includes timetables, correspondence, lists of locomotives, notes, notices, newsletters and copies of newspaper articles.
This fonds consists of 4 bound volumes of typescripts and 1 folder dealing with the commission into the wreck of the "Empress of Ireland."
The 4 bound volumes are one of the sets of original copies made for the members of the commission and contain the verbatim evidence heard by the enquiry. Volume 1 - (2 copies) 16-19 June 1914 includes typed alphabetical index of volumes I and II. Volume III, 26-27 June 1914, includes the closing arguments. There is also a file folder including a certificate of appointment of commissioners; a photograph of commissioners, and a copy of a map prepared by Captain Kendall showing the course of the "Empress" and the supposed course of the "Storstadt".
This collection contains documents pertaining to Freeman Hale Todd's business ventures, including his logging and lumber business along the St Croix River Region, as well as his merchant and grocery businesses. These include account books, promissory notes, receipts and documents related to shipping as well as deeds, indentures, mortgages, assignments of land and insurance policies. There are also wills, family papers and matters relating to Probate that pertain to Freeman Hale Todd's estate after his death on 9 September 1885. Documents involving a co-partnership between Ninian Lindsay Todd and F. H. Todd & Sons are also included. Freeman Hale Todd's election address from when he was elected in 1865 as a candidate opposing the Confederation of New Brunswick with Canada also fall under the scope of this collection. There are also some documents related to his eldest son Frank Todd which include promissory notes, receipts, correspondences, and mortgages related to his business ventures and investments in Maine and New Brunswick.
