Collection contains copies of notes on the traditional, folk, and Gaelic songs, from the Maritimes, contained on the discs made by Helen Creighton for the Archives of Folklore Division, Library of Congress, Washington, 1943-44, and 10 audio reels, on which the songs are recorded.

Also includes thank you letter from George Proctor, Professor and Head of Music Department, 1971, to Helen Creighton, for a letter and the transcriptions of the songs collected.

Fonds consists of organ music, musical programmes, an organ exam and promotional items as well as lists of publications and sound recordings available at the Mount Allison University Music Library, an address to alumni, a guest book from a music reunion in Toronto, an article about Francis Chaplin, details about student music examinations in 1967 and photographs. The contents of the fonds include references to Mary Densmore, Grace Bumbry, Clayton Hare, and Dorothy Swetnam. The contents of the fonds document Allison Patterson's interest in music, his professional career, and his musical relationship with Ethel Peake.
