This collection contains records created in the running and organizing of Grand Manan School District #1 - North Head from 1892 - 1969. There are minutes, and a few written histories of the North Head Schools, newspaper articles, and ledgers.
This collection contains the attendance registers from 1892 - 1986 for schools on Grand Manan and surrounding Islands. Series of registers for the smaller community schools cease as the schools were closed. Not all registers for all schools are here. The registers record student names, attendance, grades, and occasional comments by teachers. There are registers from the following villages: District #1 North Head, beginning 1907; District #2 Castalia, beginning 1919; District #3 Woodward’s Cove, beginning 1923; District #4 Grand Harbour, beginning 1892; District #5 Seal Cove, beginning 1934; District #6 White Head, beginning 1923; District #7 Wood Island, beginning 1929; and District #9 Deep Cove, beginning 1926. There are missing registers so the collection is not complete. District #8 is Chaney's Island we have no registers from this district.

Included are original individual teaching agreements from 1893-1955 ; bus driver records of time and expenses and contracts ; retirement events memorabilia and news clippings ; principals notes ; and the New Brunswick Teacher's Association Grand Manan Branch records.

This fonds consists of one account book used to record expenses incurred in maintaining a weir from 1895 to 1906 and what was paid to the labourers. Although it lists the officers in 1897 it does not list the share holders.
This fonds includes the Club's Rules and Regulations, information on and results of challenge races and sailings for the years 1895; 1897; 1898; and 1899. Racing reports, names of boats and owners listed, and minutes of meetings are included as well as letters of resignation to the club over disciplinary conduct and disqualification of boats.
This collection consists of monthly returns recording weather conditions, stores ordered, and repairs; letters date 1911-1923 from federal authorities about South West Head Lighthouse; visitor book kept by the Foster family as they tended South West Head Lighthouse; and light keepers diaries that were reused as scrapbooks by the children collecting information on radio amplifiers; also newspaper articles about South West Head Lighthouse in 1955 and 1960.
This fonds consists of Clarence Newton's cash book, 1897-1898, listing all assets of the company and their location and value. Also included are the Newton Bros. Ltd. account books, 1950-1954 listing account details and payouts for expenses and salaries incurred in operating a store. The purchase journal lists the names of suppliers, the cost of stock and shipping, and expenses related to stock.
