This fonds includes legal and land documents, mostly in St. Andrews, accounts and receipts, and family and business correspondence. There are also some records of the MacStay family, 1824-1889.

This fonds consists of a letter book of John Venner Thurgar, 1827-1831 and a receipt book of business transactions for Robinson & Thurgar, 1824-1829.

This fonds consists of an account book, 1832-1843, and business material including bankruptcy documents and promissory notes.

This fonds consists of a business ledger of David Wetmore, Jr., which contains references to surveyors and operations within the lumbering camp.

This fonds consists of the business and political records of A. P. Paterson. The business records include three letter books dated 1900-1909 recording Baird and Peter's business in Puerto Rico importing goods such as molasses. There are also printed advertisements and price lists.

The political records include typescripts of articles and speeches, published pamphlets relating to Maritime Rights and the British North America (BNA) Act, and reports on Royal Commissions. There is correspondence about Paterson's duties as Minister of Education and Municipal and Federal Affairs, and applications for government jobs primarily from Saint John residents and firms with references to a patronage committee. There are articles, correspondence, speeches and drafts of speeches on Maritime Rights and the British North America Act.

There is also a section of printed ephemera which includes poetry from the "Evening Gazette", Saint John, 1889; regulations of Municipal Employment office in Saint John, 1939; an address by Emile Vaillancourt to the Kiwanis Club of Montreal entitled "When Montreal was 200 years old" and a brief by the Canadian Teachers Federation to the Federal Government in 1949.

This fonds includes political and public correspondence, petitions, reports belonging to Sir Leonard Tilley and papers related to Alice Tilley's involvement in women's and benevolent organizations. There are business and personal correspondence, receipts, leases, and account books of Tilley and his wife.

Statistical information on: Saint John Post Office employees' salaries, 1866, 1872; ships built and registered in New Brunswick, 1863-1871; imports and exports for New Brunswick 1863-1871, all probably assembled as background information for Sir Leonard, is also included.

Fonds consists of property deeds, leases and legal documents relting to John Armstrong's land holdings and legal affairs, including:

• Deeds and leases for properties in Saint John, Grand Falls, Buctouche, Woodstock and in Sunbury, Queen's, Carleton and Kent counties, - 1845-1866. As well, there are Sheriff's sales of property in Victoria county, 1859 and 1860.
• There are 2 bonds for debts to John Armstrong, 1855 and 1865.
• There is a bill of sale for wooden boats to John Armstrong, 1968 and a certificate of ownership of shares in the barque, "Jennie Armstrong" and registered ownership of the brig "Maggie.
• There is a confirmation of discharge, 1875, which was John Armstrong's official discharge in his declaration of insolvency. The actual date of the confirmation was 29 November 1875 at the City of Saint John in the County of Saint John. This document was prepared by S.R. Thomson, Solicitor to the Insolvent

This fonds consists of certificates for appointments and qualifications granted to Barnhill by the Supreme Court of New Brunswick.

This fonds consists of property deeds, Methodist membership records, printed broadsheet, family history information, and a personal letter.

These insurance policies, dated 1870-1871, include marine insurance for two ships and fire insurance for properties in Saint John and Sussex Corner, New Brunswick.
