This fonds consists of correspondence, telegrams, and formulae relating to the manufacture and retail of the Reverend William Morriscy's remedies by the Father Morriscy Medicine Co. Limited of Montréal. It also includes printed copies of letters testifying to the efficacy of these remedies and a very few financial statements of the Father Morriscy Medicine Co. Limited.

Fredericton Institution for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb

This fonds consists of a single bound volume of annual reports of the Fredericton Institution for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb, dating from 1886-1901. Reports are missing for the years 1884, 1889, and 1893. These annual reports give the names of managing committee members, officers, teachers, corresponding directors, subscribers, and parents, and provide information concerning funding and the students' progress. There are also reports prepared by the school superintendent and by the school physician.

A 1971 photograph of the Woodbridge House school building, on Woodbridge Street in Fredericton, is also included.

George Currier

This fonds consists of a photocopy and a transcription of a diary written by George Currier, probably in 1850. It is a small pocket diary of the type designed for recording appointments and gives very brief notes of his social activities, the news of the day and his medical activities. Also included are notes on George Currier's life.

This fonds consists of a single item -- a minute book containing minutes of meetings of the St. Marys Water and Fire Department and of its successor, the Devon Fire Department. The bye-laws of St. Marys Water and Fire Department are included with the minutes.

Victoria Public Hospital

The Victoria Public Hospital collection consists of two groups of records. The first group, donated by the hospital administrator, includes correspondence, 1887, 1921-1949; annual reports, 1905-1934; financial and statistical reports and other financial records. There are minutes of medical staff meetings and registers of physicians, trustees, and distinguished visitors. Of particular interest is a photocopy of a letter, dated 3 Feburary 1887, from Bishop John Medley to Lady Tilley regarding the proposed establishment of a hospital at Fredericton. The records of construction at the hospital, 1925-1926, include photographs which have been transferred to the Archives' Photographic Section (P2/0273) and plans, which have been deposited in the Archives' Cartographic Section.

The second group of papers, covering the period 1954-1969, originally belonged to Arthur Limerick and R. V. Limerick and include agenda and minutes of Board of Trustee meetings, administrator's reports, and minutes and other papers of the Executive Committee. There is correspondence, with related papers, about labour relations, the nursing staff and the expansion of the buildings. Statistics and financial papers are also included.

This fonds consists of minutes (1965-1966), correspondence (1963, 1965-1966), a brief in support of the establishment of a medical in Saint John as well as briefs, drafts and submissions to the Medical School Survey Committee. There is also a scrapbook, 1965-1967.

This fonds consists of the records of the Board of Health. Correspondence consists of letters pertaining to health matters such as milk and water testing, government regulations, and citizen inquiries. Ephemera includes a brochure commemorating the Board of Health centennial, 1855-1955; provincial regulations for hotels (1918), the duties of officers in health districts and sub districts (1928) and copy of a bill to amend the Health Act.

There is a report to the housing commission with recommendations. The petition addressed to the chairman and members of the Board of Health concerns the Carritte Fertilizer Manufacturing Plant located on the Red Head Road and the offensive odour emanating from it. Legal documents include agreements for services and leases.
