This fonds contains material related to the history of Ministers Island. It includes a transcription of an interview with Wade Veinotte, who used to work on the island, as well as reports, feasibility studies, and development plans related to proposals to turn Ministers Island into a Provincial Park or other cultural resource, essays on the history of the island or the Van Horne family, photocopies of historic publications on the Van Horne family property and Sir William Van Horne, a booklet for an exhibition of paintings by Cathy Ross of artifacts belonging to the Van Horne family on Ministers Island, and transcriptions of original legal documents and correspondence related to the first European occupants of Ministers Island, John Hanson and his family.

Fonds contains five series: financial documents including blank invoices, blank receipts, eight bundles of individual price lists, price tags, and two ledgers; promotional materials including sticker labels, four magazines with their ads in them, five shop catalogues, tags, two business cards, address label, two labels for neatsfoot oil, a brochure, two post cards, and a wall calendar (1999); photographs of the founders, of three men at the Amherst, Nova Scotia parade with a horse wearing the harnesses from the shop, of Halifax exhibitions, of a CTV news broadcaster (Maria Penopalis) in the shop, of materials made at the shop, of materials sold at the shop, and of the interior (including two photos of Bill Long working there); moving images including a copy of a film on the shop by the National Film Board of Canada; and media about the shop including write-ups on the harness shop, four photocopies of Budweiser horses in harnesses from the shop, and a Globe and Mail-Weekend magazine featuring a story on the harness shop from 1973.

Fonds reflects the lives, careers, and military services of George Rogers and his family. Fonds consists of various textual records and photographs from the George Rogers family of Sackville, New Brunswick. It includes letters between family members; newspaper clippings about the family; and photographs of the family home and activities of George, his two wives, and their 13 children. The fonds also consists of a letter from Karen Eames in 2018 that accompanied the rest of the fonds documenting her knowledge of the Rogers side of her family.

Read in the “Carriage House” of the Marshlands Inn, which includes various materials pertaining to the Read Stone Company and grindstone production, including primarily photographs, as well as graphic drawings, newspaper clippings, and other textual records.

Second accession, contains materials pertaining to the Read Stone Company, grindstone production, and the Read family. Content includes primarily photographs, as well as postcards, articles, and a guest book from the Marshlands Inn which was formerly the Read home, and that contained a museum devoted to displaying the history of the grindstone industry in Sackville.
