The item consists of a map titled "George Sproule, Esq., Surveyor General , New Brunswick - 29 March,1809 land grant map of Grand Manan, copy." A black and white microfilm printout of the land grants on Grand Manan Island, NB in 1809 shows that most of the Island has been granted by this date. It is handwritten.

Item consist of one map titled "Bay of Fundy Grand Manan Island with the Adjacent Island and Dangers, 1855" by Shortland, P.F. Capt., R. N. et al. Map shows notes from sailors for safe passage routes 1855, sketches of land marks and island from a distance.
This log book contains entries from the voyage of the Brig. A. V. Goodhue in 1862 from New York to St. Michaelina. In 1866 the book was used by Ruth Larkin as a scrapbook for poetry and notable quotations. A reference was found for the ship in the New York Times Archives, 4 February, 1865 page 8 - listing the ships in the harbour that day.
This ledger appears to have been used by multiple owners. The inside cover has "H. C. Seely, St. John, NB August, 1879" written. The beginning of the book has alphabetized pages with non Grand Manan names probably from the St. John business. Then the ledger was used from 1882-1889 for various accounts. Pages have been cut out of the book as well. Some of the Grand Manan connections are: Island Press, James Pettes 1885, Church of Ascension Accounts, Post Office, Sunday School 1904.
This fonds consists of two record books kept by James Brayley. There are journals from the Fisherman's Supply Store on White Head Island, 1889-1894, which record the customers' names, items purchased, and the cost of each item.
This item is a class photo of the McGill Medical Class of 1898. Each student is dressed in their gown. The individual images are in a small oval with their name below their photo. There re 3 photos of buildings inset among the people images - The Medical Building, the Montreal General Hospital, and the Royal Victoria Hospital. There is a wide mat inside the glass. The dark wood frame has carved molding son the inside edge and the outer edge. Dr. J. F. Macaulay, who was a Doctor on Grand Manan, is in this class.
