Fonds consists of documents related to the Carleton County Historical Society's administration, finances, projects, fundraisers, social events, and legal records. Legal documents include the 1960 letters patent and deeds of property owned by the society including the McClosky, Cluff and Sharpe houses, the Old County Court House, Connell House, property of Myles Brown, and lands once owned by the Wright family. Administration materials consist of daily reports, 1960-1985; executive minutes; annual minutes, 1960-1987; annual reports, 1960-1975; policies and regulation documents; by-laws; and business correspondence. Financial papers include statements, receipts, taxation, grants, and insurance policies. Project information relates to the conservation of Connell House, Carleton County Heritage Center, Old County Court House and the Upper Woodstock study. Fundraisers and social event materials include information on the society's salmon frys, 1960-1971; balls; dramatic presentations; and Christmas productions. Photographs include black and white aerial and land shots of Upper Woodstock, 1960s-1970s; black and white photographs of costume balls, social events, and salmon frys; and photographs honouring the founding members of the Carleton County Historical Society.

Fonds mainly consists of documents related to Walter Oswald Chestnut's career as a physician. Fonds includes appointment books, closed medical records, patient correspondence, published medical reports, financial materials including income tax (1938-1987) and cash books, and certificates consisting of marriage, funeral, birth, and Chestnut's obituary. There are Chestnut geneological notes, Chestnut's 1987 probate, and his wife Nina's certificate of birth, 1904. Photographs consist of both black and white and coloured photographs, dated 1900-1986, which include personal photographs of Walter and Nina, the Vaness family, family social events, and professional functions.

Fonds consists of account books for the administration of the estates of local businessmen and members of the Vince family. There are deeds, correspondence written between Vince family members, and photographs, dating between 1910 and 1942. Photographs show military men and units in Carleton County, Halifax, and England, and snapshots of family members. Also included in the fonds are scrapbooks containing memorabilia of military personnel and personal documents, and eight maps showing four military maneuvers and the locations of Liverpool, England; Miramichi Bay, NB; and Carleton County, NB.

Fonds consists of financial documents and some correspondence belonging to McKeen's Drug Store. Financial materials include cheque stubs, 1938-1960, statements, and account books, dated 1912-1969. Account books include payroll and accounts payable information. Correspondence, dated 1955-1968, consists of prescription information and prescription inquiries from customers. There are medical forms naming Carleton County physicians ordering prescriptions for patients and including name of patient, medicine, special directions, and in a few cases, the type of ailment.

Fonds consists mainly of documents related to McCain family-owned businesses during the period of 1815-1967. Contained within the fonds are ledgers, account books, notebooks, receipts, and business correspondence with company associates. Family correspondence is shared by the following McCain family members: Andrew, Hazel, Henry and his wife, Mary, Muriel, Hugh Gordon, Billy, Hugh John, and John McCain. Photographs, dated 1880 to1931, show family members. Also included in the fonds are maps which show the locations of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Glassville, NB; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Carleton County, NB.

McLaughlin family

"This fonds consists mainly of documents related to the McLaughlin family's personal activities. Materials related to John McLaughlin and his estate, dating from 1926-1932, include correspondence, invoices and receipts, his 1932 death announcement, and insurance policies. There is also a small group of records of his dry goods company consisting of financial papers and business correspondence. The materials belonging to his wife Annie include receipts, correspondence, and bills, dated 1880-1939.

Charles Guy McLaughlin's documents (1908-1953) include family correspondence, financial papers consisting of tax, insurance policies, and receipts, and also military certificates he received as a lieutenant. Elsie McLaughlin's papers consist entirely of correspondence with physicians and acquaintances, dated 1918-1936. Marguerite McLaughlin's materials contain correspondence with friends and relatives and receipts dating from 1889-1954. Bessie McLaughlin also has receipts and correspondence, dated 1929-1954. Harry McLaughlin has business correspondence, dated 1935-1965. Charles Guy McLaughlin's son, Ronald, has documents including correspondence, military papers, and receipts, dated 1916-1941.

Family photographs date from 1902-1961 and show snapshots taken of family members and Carleton County residents. Photographs also include nature shots taken of Woodstock and the surrounding landscape. Postcards show Woodstock buildings."

Canadian Pacific Railway Company

This fonds consists of staff registers listing engineers and firemen employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company; letter books containing CPR staff appointments; a payroll book including the salaries received by Carleton County residents; timetables; staff bulletins containing news about company operations; and publications of "The Spanner," a magazine published by the CPR, issues dating from 1848-1864 .

Clark McBride

Fonds mainly consists of Clark McBride's daily journals, dated 1899-1955, that include information on his personal activities and monthly accounts. Fonds also contains business documents consisting of promissory notes, correspondence, and tax notices regarding the school and municipality of the parish of Wilmot. Personal documents include Eda McBride's 1952 death certificate and correspondence.

George F. Boyer

This fonds documents George F. Boyer's life as a university student and his work as a wildlife conservationist. It includes photographs of wildlife and their breeding grounds. Dates of these photographs are not given nor is the geographic location. Photographs also include snapshots of George F. Boyer and slides of Maritime wildlife. Fonds additionally contains a 1937 senior sawmill report written during his studies at the University of New Brunswick, University of Illinois course notes, Boyer's 1938 Bachelor of Science degree certificate from the University of New Brunswick, and his 1960 death certificate.
