This collection consists of reports created by researchers at the Research Station. The early reports are photocopies, because the originals were out of print at the time of the deposit. More recent reports are originals.
This fonds consists of journals listing customers names, purchases, and cost of items. Some purchases were made on credit. One journal is dated February 1901 to July 1910 and the other, 25 July 1910 to 8 August 1911.
This collection contains plans showing how the Gannet Rock Lighthouse is situated on the rock, correspondence, newspaper articles, and a book excerpt by an unknown author.
This fonds consists of many handwritten letters from the 1930's discussing events in the 1800's and early 1900's. Much of this research was used to create the Grand Manan Historians that Buchanan Charles wrote and edited - preserving much of Grand Manan Island's early history. He collected an extensive library from which 53 books and close to 300 brochures, pamphlets, and reports were donated with this collection of 170 cm of textual records. The published records are housed in the research library at the Grand Manan Museum.
This fonds consists of one account book used to record expenses incurred in maintaining a weir from 1895 to 1906 and what was paid to the labourers. Although it lists the officers in 1897 it does not list the share holders.
This fonds contains a binder of original letters from Ernest Joy to Robert Cunningham with newspaper clippings, diary excerpts, and meteorological reports from Kent Island. There is also one photograph of Ernest Joy with his housekeeper and companion, Carrie.
This collection contains the record books kept in operating the businesses and correspondence related to the business of smoking herring and marine repairs. There is a sectional Aeronautical chart of Boston (V-10), n.d.; blueprints of the barge "Minca" built for the Ministry of War, 1944; a Lee Wilcox poem; newspaper clipping about the replica of the schooner "Bluenose"; work orders for the annual refit of the patrol boat "Gull Light," 1970.
This fonds documents the activities of the Grand Manan Red Cross Society. There are minutes, notices, fundraising information, correspondence about the operations of the branch, and presidents' records. Also included are annual reports from the provincial and national chapters of the organization, 1941-1967.
This fonds consists of two medical journals--one containing records kept during his medical practice (14 April 1884 - 29 May 1892), the other recording daily transactions (1 October 1887 - 1 April 1892), a scrapbook containing photographs, loose photographs, and glass negatives. It also contains a biography file containing photocopies of newspaper stories and photos of Dr. George Noyes, and a handmade scrapbook by his son Benjamin L. Noyes entitled "Historical & Scenic Volume, Grand Manan Island, Charlotte County, N.B."
This collections consists of one original log book, and photocopies of other log books that were loaned to the Archives to be copied, and one file of newspaper clippings about the station.
