The fonds consists of ephemera pertaining to Fred G. Jones's bookbinding occupation. There is a 1922 Saint John Exhibition First Prize card for bookbinding as well as an advertising card for High Class Bookbinding by Fred G. Jones. Two pieces of advertising material with marbling (of paper) specimens printed by Halfer Company of London, England, a supplier of materials and equipment for marbellizing paper. Specimens include two samples each of Dutch marble, Turkish or Stone Marble, Comb Marbles and Hair Vein Marbles using different colours. There are printed instructions for marbellizing paper on the back.

Early settlement at Chignecto / George F. Trueman
The fonds consists of a typed draft of a history of the Chignecto Isthmus area presented to the New Brunswick Historical Society at Saint John on 25 November 1933 by Dr. George J. Trueman. This paper describes the settlement of the area including Sackville, Westcock, Aulac (Westmorland Point), Mount Whatley, Point du Bute, Upper Point du Bute and Port Elgin in New Brunswick and Amherst, Fort Lawrence, and Tidnish in Nova Scotia. Dr. Trueman discusses the early settlement of Acadia, the expulsion of the Acadians, the struggles between the English and French, and the arrival of the New England and Yorkshire settlers.
Some names of settlers and their locations are given. A bibliography is included. There is also an article from the "Telegraph Journal", Saint John, 25 November 1933, describing the presentation of the paper.

This fonds consists of a manuscript book by Walter White about his militia memories from 1884 to 1942. It makes reference to the contingent sent to the Boer War from Saint John and describes White's experiences during the Halifax Explosion.

This fonds contains a journal dated 1850 kept by William N. Smith during his voyage to Liverpool, England and back to Saint John. It provides details of daily life aboard ship and a record of the weather and setting of the course and sails. There are detailed illustrations, in both pencil and ink, of the "Susan" and other ships passed at sea as well as lighthouses.

The business correspondence deals with shippings lumber aboard the Peake Bros. schooner, 1891-1892. Included are essays written by Howard Chapman on historical topics such as Halifax history, the Cape Tormentine breakwater and lumbering.
