L. W. Eaton logbook

This 28-page logbook for the brigantine "L. W. Eaton" records 4 voyages, 1 completed in 1875 and 3 completed in 1879, namely: New York, New York, to Halifax, Nova Scotia, April 1875; Chatham, New Brunswick, to St. John's, Newfoundland, June 1879; St. Johns, NF, to Chatham, NB, June 1879; and Chatham, NB, to St-Pierre and Miquelon, July 1879. The log records the daily notes for each voyage which make reference to bearing, weather, and distance sailed.

This fonds contains diaries and letters written by Catherine, Margaret and Jessie Loggie, the daughters of Alexander and Catherine Loggie. The writers express concerns about young women embarking on a career in teaching and comment upon a ten day's trip to the interior of Norway as well as a voyage from Rimouski (Quebec) to Calcutta via Liverpool.

This fonds contains biographical information, correspondence, literary works and photographs which document the life and interests of Annie Harvie (Ross) Foster Hanley. Copies of literary works, in both printed form and manuscript, form the bulk of the fonds. Photographs are largely studio prints of family members in NB, especially Woodstock and Doaktown. Also included are photographs from a funeral procession for Peter Veregin, leader of a Doukhobor sect.

This fonds documents the literary and personal activities of Lloyd Roberts and sheds light on his personal relationships with his father and other family members. The fonds also documents Charles G.D. Roberts's literary career, highlighting his business dealings with publishers and agents.

This fonds contains personal letters to Lloyd or Charles G.D. Roberts and holograph and typescript copies of poems by them. It also includes their literary notebooks and copies of their published works, as well as Charles G.D. Roberts's royalty statements, correspondence from his publishers, his literary agreements, and clippings about his literary activities. The fonds also includes a very few typescript, holograph, or published copies of works by Bliss Carman, Theodore Goodridge Roberts, Leila Roberts, and other writers.

E. Tappan Adney

This fonds contains largely original material documenting E. Tappan Adney's long involvement in the affairs of native people in New Brunswick, particularly the Maliseet. It includes information about treaty rights, New Brunswick court cases involving native rights, the historical development of reserves, and the 1947 review of the Indian Act.

This fonds contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, reports, briefs, submissions, notes, and copies of published articles, treaties, speeches, proclamations, and "deeds". It also includes several photos, prints, sketches, and watercolours. Some materials are typescripts.

There is also a microfilmed copy of Adney's diary covering his first trip to New Brunswick (30 June 1887 to 28 February 1889) as well as his diary covering his second trip to New Brunswick and first trip to Nova Scotia (July to November 1890).
