Item covers period 1798, 1801 - 1803. Information provided identifies sheep farmers during the period and describes ear cuts/piercings that were used for identification purposes of the animals.
Letter to Lord Hobart from Colonel Martin Hunter (later General Martin Hunter) dated 30 August 1803. Martin reports that he is ordered to New Brunswick "to raise a regiment" and asks if he may be appointed Governor of New Brunswick in place of Governor Thomas Carleton, whom he understands is to be returning to England.

Vorie's Seamanship and Navigation Book
Item is a brown seamanship and navigation book containing information on projection, trigonometry, Gunter's scale, Mercator's scale, winds tides, keeping a ship's log lunar observations and sea terms.
The item consists of a map titled "George Sproule, Esq., Surveyor General , New Brunswick - 29 March,1809 land grant map of Grand Manan, copy." A black and white microfilm printout of the land grants on Grand Manan Island, NB in 1809 shows that most of the Island has been granted by this date. It is handwritten.

Books consist of a hand written index ; published articles are pasted onto the pages ; poems, stories and letters are written on both of the books pages and inserted written items ; as an example there is a 1588 copy of a speech given by Queen Elizabeth I and 1786 article on the East India Company ; printed pictures have been cut out and pasted in the books. Book has also been used to press several Maple leaves.
