This collection contains poetry written by a number of authors, including Archer Wilcox, Hiram Wilcox, and Lee Wilcox; stories of shipwrecks; obituaries; and Wilcox family history. Also included are the 1928-1929 Wood Island School register and a 1963 assessment list for Grand Manan. There is also a picture of a page from the Wilcox family Bible.
This collection of photos have been gathered at The Grand Manan Archives since the Archives began in 1986. People would find old photos and drop them off to the Museum. The photos show life on Grand Manan over the centuries.
The item consists of a map titled "George Sproule, Esq., Surveyor General , New Brunswick - 29 March,1809 land grant map of Grand Manan, copy." A black and white microfilm printout of the land grants on Grand Manan Island, NB in 1809 shows that most of the Island has been granted by this date. It is handwritten.
This collection contains documents and articles pertaining to the fishing industry on and around Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada. There are publications showing fisheries statistics and information for all things harvested from the Bay of Fundy ; there are original records from the Department of Fisheries office. The collection is organized by the archives staff into series for type of catch and the equipment required to catch that species.
