This document is a photocopy of the renewed treaty and contains the text of the 1725 treaty with additional ratifications and signatures. Several of the native delegates have signed with totems.

Edward Winslow

These two letters by Edward Winslow discuss a royal coat of arms, formerly in the Council Chamber in Boston, and removed, probably by Edward Winslow, at the time of the evacuation in 1776. Winslow authorizes Ward Chipman to give it to any worthy public room in Saint John. In 2003 the coat of arms hangs in Trinity Church, Saint John. The letters also discuss the politics of the new city of Saint John and the relative merits of Gabriel Ludlow and Elias Hardy as candidates for mayor.

Robert Reid letter

The letter from Robert Reid to Adam Smith is a record of Robert Reid's experiences and recollections as he travelled overland from Baie des Chaleur to Halifax, Nova Scotia in mid-winter in the company of some aboriginal people.

This fonds contains the records created by the organizations and clergy of the Diocese of Fredericton - including the Bishops, the Diocesan Synod and its predecessor, the Diocesan Church Society, the Deaneries, the Cathedral and the Parishes.

However, it is the latter, the Parishes, which have generated the bulk of the records contained herein. Records produced by the Parishes include the Parish Registers (of Baptisms, Marriages, Burials and Confirmations), records of the Corporation (Vestry), statistical Registers of Services (now called Vestry Books), correspondence and financial records, land deeds and consecration and other legal records, parish histories, photographs etc. Any Parish's records may include some or all of the above and more.

Colin Campbell fonds

This fonds consists of bills and receipts for household and personal expenses of the Colin Campbell family. Most are for food, clothing, hairdressing, furnishing, painting, "the girls" schooling, and funeral expenses for "our dear little boy." There are also a few legal and financial papers.

Donald McDonald letter

The letter, dated 20 January 1813, contains a list of supplies that men from the company were supposed to bring with them if assembled in a case of emergency. The list included clothing, a blanket and some sort of carrying case.

Henry Smith

This fonds consists of personal and business correspondence of Henry Smith, dating from 1798 to 1804. There are letters from several correspondents, including Stephen Miller Sr., Stephen Miller Jr., Edward Howard, Hannah Smith, W. W. Hailes, Garret Clopper, and Mrs. H. Rogers.

The fonds also includes a single letter to Henry Smith's wife, Hannah Smith, from her mother Hannah Miller and an account with John M. Wilmot (1819).

This fonds consists of a single item -- account ledger D -- which contains individual itemized accounts for customers of Joseph Porter's general store at St. Stephen, New Brunswick. The accounts record customer's purchases and payments received.

(1)Thomas Elms, innkeeper, of Saint John, N.B. and his wife Mary, 100 acres of land at Gagetown to Gilbert Pugsley, innkeeper, 8 March 1790; (2) William Peters and his wife, property on Carleton Street, in Fredericton, N.B. to Charles D. Everett and John H. Peters, 11 July 1826; and (3) Charles D. Everett, same property on Carleton Street, in Fredericton, N. B. to Thomas W. Peters, 7 March 1842.

This fonds consists of records pertaining to the proposed construction of stone buildings at Miramichi, Northumberland County, New Brunswick. Included are the specifications for a guard house, cook house, privies, and well [1827]; a letter addressed to Captain Douglas, Fredericton, from G. Graydon, Captain Royal Engineers, dated at Fredericton, 11 July 1827, enclosing these plans for a subaltern detachment at Miramichi; an estimate for the barracks at Miramichi; and a hand-drawn architectural plan of the proposed subaltern barracks by G. Graydon, dated 1827.
