St. Andrews Music, Art and Drama Club Meeting Minutes, Reports, and Documents.

A black binder which contains meeting minutes, reports, memos, and other documents such as a copy of the St. Andrews Music Art and Drama Club’s by-laws or membership lists for 1983-85. Meeting minutes and reports in this collection often discuss membership, financial information, future events and endeavors, and scholarships.

"Borden's Condensed Milk Co." Leather Booklet

A leather booklet with "Borden's Condensed Milk Co." written on the cover. Inside is written "Best Wishes, Yours Sincerely, W. M. H. Dunn". It was used as a notebook and contains lists of items and their total prices. No dates are present in the notes, but the back of the book has a calendar dated to 1910.

Black Booklet

A black booklet which contains lists of expenses for food, taxes, wood, and farm equipment and labor. The notes related to farm labor mention a place called "Sussex Vale". It also contains notes on goods that were sold from "Sussex Vale". Likely used by a farmer.

Blacksmith Account Book

A faded account book, which contains newspaper clippings on veterinary advice for horses, while the rest of the book contains lists of names and expenses. Most of these expenses are for shoeing horses and repairing equipment. Likely used by a blacksmith.

Charles Smith Collection

This collection contains documents belonging to Reverend Charles M. Smith of Rollingdam, New Brunswick, including both documents related to his research projects into local history as well as his duties as a Reverend. Documents related to these duties include marriage records for marriages performed by Charles Smith, and his notes and drafts for eulogies that were done at funeral services. Documents related to Charles Smith’s research projects include hand drawn and printed maps and drawings, published material and primary documents used by Charles Smith to support his research, and notes on church history, roadwork and early travel, local history, Charlotte County schools, and genealogical data. Also included are St. Croix Courier articles and essays written by Charles Smith, as well as the drafts for those items, and his correspondences, which include letters containing information related to his research and more personal letters.

Jackie Gibson Collection

This collection contains correspondences, documents, photos, and other types of material related to Joseph and Effie Gibson and their descendants. Most of the correspondence in this collection concerns the oldest son of Joseph and Effie Gibson named Joe Gibson, who was a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War who went missing during a flight. Many photos of him and his crewmates, his letters home from overseas, as well as his schoolwork and notes from leaning how to fly an aircraft, are also included in this collection. Several items which concern the affairs of John Gibson, Joe Gibson’s younger brother, can be found in this collection. These include correspondences and legal documents related to the estate of Charlotte Gibson, his sister, as well as an agreement between John Gibson and the Canada Railroad Company concerning interest and his land. Most of the personal items and published material in this collection belonged to John Gibson as well, these include publications related to his position as a volunteer firefighter, reports of organizations he belonged to, maps of the Town of St. Andrews, notes related to his work as a stonemason, and other items.

This collection contains clippings and photocopies of articles from a local Charlotte County newspaper called the St. Croix Courier. The topics of these articles can include events from local Charlotte County history, special ceremonies or meetings, important places, obituaries and death notices, and news. Some standout articles include a souvenir album on the visit of Prince Charles and Princess Diana to St. Andrews, and an article on people from Charlotte County who moved to California for the Gold Rush.

Notes points of interest, including Watts’ Wharf, Raits’ Wharf, Roman Catholic Church, Wilson’s Wharf, Fort Tipperary, Greenock Presbyterian Church, Church of England, Market Wharf, Chamcook Mountain, Market Square and Town Hall, Steamboat Wharf, Old Steam Saw Mill. On the reverse, there is a sketch of the military land at the East Block House Saint Andrews NB, surveyed by William Mahood 1867.
