This fonds consists of minutes (1965-1966), correspondence (1963, 1965-1966), a brief in support of the establishment of a medical in Saint John as well as briefs, drafts and submissions to the Medical School Survey Committee. There is also a scrapbook, 1965-1967.

This fonds consists of photocopies of correspondence, 1838-1839, including an exchange of letters with Lord Glenily about women’s education in British North America; the terms of Mrs. Blatch's establishment for young ladies; the Blatch genealogy; and Mrs. Blatch's notes on the return voyage from England to Saint John.

This paper consists of a copy of specifications of a ship approximately 1100 to 1200 tons,1853.

These insurance policies, dated 1870-1871, include marine insurance for two ships and fire insurance for properties in Saint John and Sussex Corner, New Brunswick.

This fonds cconsists of two letters, one from Hugh in 1818 and the other from Mary in 1837. The letters contain family news.

This fonds consists of the correspondence of Hazen in his role as mayor. Although there are some personal papers in this fonds, the bulk appears to have been created while carrying out the duties of the mayor between 1837 and 1840.

The subjects discussed in the letters include the construction of a breakwater in Saint John harbour, the Carleton ferry and records of the granting of Navy Island to the city in 1823. There are reports from the city inspectors about maintenance of roads and cleaning of the streets and records of licences to sell liquor. Information about the fire of 1839 and the Market House is included. There are also records of the Saint John Society library, the Madras school, and the Pest House. Some of the letters include references to Irish immigration.

This report was prepared for Lieutenant-Governor Arthur Hamilton Gordon by Lieutenant-Colonel J.A. Inches on 24 May 1866. It discusses in detail the activities of the Fenians in the Calais, Maine, and St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on 23 and 24 May 1866.

The fonds consists of records belonging to several generations of the Hanington family. There is a letter, 1818, from William Hanington in Shediac to his son, John, in Halifax about the purchase of merchandise for his business. Two modern copies of this letter are also included. There are school certificates for good character and deportment belonging to Jane Chase from the New York Ward School, 1851 and 1853, and Mrs. Hunts Seminary for Young Ladies, 1858.

There are also travel documents belonging to Mabel Hanington for a journey through Siberia and Russia en route to Switzerland. There is also a published English language reader and a pamphlet in Chinese.

This fonds consists of the administrative records of the club. It includes committee minutes, 1923-1938, registers, financial and legal documents, 1896-1954, correspondence, membership records, logs, diaries and information about racing and the annual cruise.

This fonds consists of Mrs. Harriett Holman's notes for her address to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Natural History Society in 1954. It includes her reminiscences of the early days in the Ladies Auxiliary, beginning when she joined in 1892 and recalls how she became secretary-treasurer. There is information about membership fees, members, location and frequency of meetings, lectures and field trips. Also included are notes of Mrs. Holman's recollection of the Auxiliary's decision to pursue full membership in the Natural History Society. There are two poems, one each by Dr. and Mrs. G.F. Matthews, which have nature and science themes.
