This fonds consists of the nominal roll of B Company, in a leather-bound volume dated 1916. Information about enlisted men includes: names, addresses and place of birth; next of kin, their address and the relationship of kin; date of birth and enlistment as well as religion, nationality and pay rate. There are also 4 loose typed pages of the nominal roll which include regiment numbers, rank and platoon numbers. The first page provides the names of the non-commissioned officers.

This fonds consists of archaeological plans of prehistoric campsites on the Saint John River between Woodstock and the Tobique and notes on his archaeological research. There is a ornithological notebook of birdsongs heard in Woodstock in the spring migration of 1934-1937. There are also press clippings and a letter from Chief William Saulis of the Tobique reservation, concerning Adney's work on native peoples, and a biographical article from "Time" magazine, 1944.

  • Deeds and leases for properties in Saint John, Grand Falls, Buctouche, Woodstock and in Sunbury, Queen's, Carleton and Kent counties, - 1845-1866. As well, there are Sheriff's sales of property in Victoria county, 1859 and 1860.
  • There are 2 bonds for debts to John Armstrong, 1855 and 1865.
  • There is a bill of sale for wooden boats to John Armstrong, 1968 and a certificate of ownership of shares in the barque, "Jennie Armstrong" and registered ownership of the brig "Maggie.
  • There is a confirmation of discharge, 1875, which was John Armstrong's official discharge in his declaration of insolvency. The actual date of the confirmation was 29 November 1875 at the City of Saint John in the County of Saint John. This document was prepared by S.R. Thomson, Solicitor to the Insolvent

This fonds consists of 2 typescripts of Alfred Bailey's writings about the Provincial Museum of New Brunswick. A lecture entitled "The John Clarence Webster Collection" is the text of an address presented to the Maritime Library Association, Saint John branch, 19 March 1936. "Saint John and the New Brunswick Museum in the Hungry Thirties 1935-1938", revised in 1982, contains details of Bailey's work as curator during the early years of the museum, his impressions of the Websters, the strained relations with the director, Dr. Macintosh, and the effects of the Depression on himself and the museum. It includes references to several well-known artists in Saint John at that time.
