This fonds consists mainly of correspondence among members of the various branches of Pollok and Gilmour, especially to and from Alexander Rankin of Rankin and Gilmour.

It also includes personal financial records of Alexander and Robert Rankin and North American travel diaries of Allen Gilmour, Jr. and Sr. and William Ritchie, dating from 1828 to 1829, and a report on the proceedings at the Prince of Wales' Challenge Cup competition (1862).

Hubbard Family Fonds

Series consists of material related to the Hubbard family, including photographs and textual records.

The records pertain primarily to a descendant, Dora Louisa Hubbard (1882-1968), who after receiving her schooling in Burton attended the Newtown Hospital School in Massachusetts, graduating in 1914 as a registered nurse and she continued to nurse in the Newtown Hospital.
She went overseas in June 1916 serving until June 1917. Continuing her WW I service she then served with the American Red Cross until 1918. After the war she did private nursing in Boston until 1940, when she moved to Montreal, until 1953 when she retired and returned to Fredericton. In addition to Dora's records there is an item pertaining to Nathaniel Hubbard and an item pertaining to Belmont House of R.D. Wilmot.

Le fonds témoigne de la profession de militaire qu'était Abijah Willard, capitaine et colonel de régiment. Il est composé d'une série : manuscrits (1755-1756). Il comprend un journal (9 avril 1755-5 janvier 1756) et un « Orderly Book » (28 avril 1755-4 avril 1756) alors que Willard est en poste à fort Lawrence et fort Cumberland (Beauséjour). Il exécute scrupuleusement l'ordre de Monckton, de rassembler les Acadiens pour la Déportation et incendier leurs édifices, à l'isthme de Chignectou, ainsi qu'à Tatamagouche et Cobeguit. C'est un des journaux les plus détaillés du Grand Dérangement.

Indian Affairs Collection

This collection contains 90 original documents, dealing with issues concerning the Natives of New Brunswick during the 18th and 19th centuries. Included are a number of documents dealing with land disputes between the Natives and the settlers, appointing Native Chiefs and Captains, listing the names of Natives living in various regions, assuring the neutrality of the Natives during the War of 1812, and petitioning for relief for various Native families. There are also a series of French language documents which, in addition to dealing with Native issues, also focus on land disputes between Acadians and the Government. Documents are in the form of personal and official correspondence, reports, maps, certificates, petitions and lists. Of particular note is a Treaty of Peace and Friendship between the President of His Majesty's Council and the Chief of the Jedaick Tribe of Natives at Halifax, in the Province of Nova Scotia or Acadia, 25 June 1761.

This fonds includes the correspondence of James White, 1768-1809, and of James White Jr., 1812-1815. There are ships' accounts, 1761-1788 including specific accounts for masts, orders, 1779-1796, bills of sale, 1761, 1782 and contracts, 1772-1784. White's records as assistant Superintendent of Indian Affairs, 1778-1781 and as deputy Collector, 1783-1785 are also included, along with records of his role as justice of the peace, 1779-1783, 1793 and in various parish offices, 1788-1814.
