Azor moved with his family at age six or seven to New Brunswick from Connecticut, USA. The Diary has been titled "Ice Out Past My House," and was kept by Azor until his death in 1842, and it appears to have been continued by his grandson, Isaac Ketchum Hoyt, until his death in 1855.
