This fonds consists primarily of Baxter's records of the Royal Commission to inquire into statements made by "The Standard" concerning the Provincial Hospital at Fairville, New Brunswick. It includes issues of the paper, drafts of the report and testimony, extracts from the press and correspondence. There is also a number of documents collected by Baxter including letters from famous people and original miltiary records of Saint John, 1808-1926.

This fonds consists of the appointments, business records, accounts and military records of Charles R. Hatheway. There is also material about a dispute over land with Michael Noonan, 1851-1866; a record of surveys in Charlotte County, 1827-1855, and of lots surveyed in Saint David's for Dr. Frye and Capt. Mowatt, 1834; and a court book of smuggling cases, 1830-1832.

This fonds cconsists of two letters, one from Hugh in 1818 and the other from Mary in 1837. The letters contain family news.

The fonds consists of records belonging to several generations of the Hanington family. There is a letter, 1818, from William Hanington in Shediac to his son, John, in Halifax about the purchase of merchandise for his business. Two modern copies of this letter are also included. There are school certificates for good character and deportment belonging to Jane Chase from the New York Ward School, 1851 and 1853, and Mrs. Hunts Seminary for Young Ladies, 1858.

There are also travel documents belonging to Mabel Hanington for a journey through Siberia and Russia en route to Switzerland. There is also a published English language reader and a pamphlet in Chinese.

This fonds consists of Ann Simonds' correspondence and financial papers and other correspondence among Simonds family members. Included are account books relating to Henry George Simonds, 1831-1848.

Fonds consists primarily of Eileen Cushing's papers with other family records. It includes her correspondence and accounts as well as her speeches, notes and other writings. There are family property deeds and some records and business correspondence of the Sulphite Fibre Company.

Cushing family genealogical information includes newspaper obituaries and press clippings, invitations, records of funerals and marriages, Sunday school tracts, pew rentals and records of church membership. Eileen Cushing's papers on Loyalists and early settlers and George S. Cushing's diaries, 1873-1904, are also included.

The accounts record sales to customers, supplies (including lumber) purchased for building ships, and payments to workmen. The company appears to have provided board and lodging for some of its workers, as detailed in the accounts.
