This record is the financial report of the York Constituency Council of the New Brunswick Section of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, dated 31 March 1947. This fonds documents William J. West's career as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Brunswick. It consists of more than 400 individual case files containing correspondence, judgments, notes, briefs, and other legal documents. The fonds also includes miscellaneous legal correspondence (1952-1967), lists of barristers, and dockets, as well as correspondence, speeches, and newspaper clippings relating to his political career.

Lastly, the fonds contains personal correspondence, personal legal records, genealogical notes on the West family, a transcript of an interview with William West, invitations to social functions, family photographs, newspaper clippings, and materials pertaining to riverboats and steamships on the St. John River.

This collection consists of a typescript memoir entitled "Life and times in New Brunswick 1866 to 1945," which is a candid account of most aspects of William Hubbard's life and includes a vivid picture of activities on the St. John River in the 1870s and 1880s. There are also extracts from the memoirs of W. W. Hubbard selected by Fred Phillips for a series of articles in "The Daily Gleaner" (Fredericton) and dated December 1955.

Order in council approving civil constitution of New Brunswick

This document is a photographic copy of an order-in-council, putting into force the report of the Lords of the committee for Trade and Foreign Plantations. The committee had laid out the boundaries of the new province, established the form of government and proposed estimates for payment of the officials. The report covers both the new province of New Brunswick and Cape Breton Island.
