The Victoria Public Hospital collection consists of two groups of records. The first group, donated by the hospital administrator, includes correspondence, 1887, 1921-1949; annual reports, 1905-1934; financial and statistical reports and other financial records. There are minutes of medical staff meetings and registers of physicians, trustees, and distinguished visitors. Of particular interest is a photocopy of a letter, dated 3 Feburary 1887, from Bishop John Medley to Lady Tilley regarding the proposed establishment of a hospital at Fredericton. The records of construction at the hospital, 1925-1926, include photographs which have been transferred to the Archives' Photographic Section (P2/0273) and plans, which have been deposited in the Archives' Cartographic Section.

The second group of papers, covering the period 1954-1969, originally belonged to Arthur Limerick and R. V. Limerick and include agenda and minutes of Board of Trustee meetings, administrator's reports, and minutes and other papers of the Executive Committee. There is correspondence, with related papers, about labour relations, the nursing staff and the expansion of the buildings. Statistics and financial papers are also included.

This fonds consists of the minute books, 1853-1860, 1867-1873, and the account books, 1851-1861, of the Dalhousie Division No. 64, Sons of Temperance.

This fonds consists of an account book, 1832-1843, and business material including bankruptcy documents and promissory notes.

This fonds consists of the minutes, annual reports, matrons' reports and financial statements of the Home. There is also some correspondence, 1971-1978, and a record of Christmas presents, 1952-1976.

This fonds consists of a typed history of the Saint John suspension bridge with a copy of a photograph of the bridge. This history was previously published in the New Brunswick Historical Society Collections (No. 10, p. 104). There is information on early attempts to build a bridge across the harbour connecting the east and west sides of Saint John, including dates and names of the individuals involved in building the suspension bridge. There are technical details of the construction of this bridge as well as general discussion of suspension bridges including one in Wales and the first Brooklyn Bridge in New York. The report of the inspecting engineer, Alexander L. Light of St. Andrews, is included in this history. Names of stockholders of the Saint John Suspension Bride Company are provided as wel as a few details about bridge finances. Also included is an account of a violent storm that badly damaged the bridge in May 1858 and nearly caused a tragedy.

This fonds consists of the administrative records and correspondence of the Union. It includes minutes, financial records, membership and dues records. There is strike benefits documentation from 1908 and a guide book for local union secretary-treasurer, 1969.

This fonds consists of a scrapbook of Herman Lordly's poetry from newspaper clippings, the University of New Brunswick Law journal, military publications and other sources, dating from 1943-1956.

This fonds consists of minutes (1965-1966), correspondence (1963, 1965-1966), a brief in support of the establishment of a medical in Saint John as well as briefs, drafts and submissions to the Medical School Survey Committee. There is also a scrapbook, 1965-1967.

The collection consists of genealogical information and family letters. There are original letters with transcriptions, written by Mary Spurr Harding from Shippegan and Chatham, N.B., in 1851-1852, to her mother Amelia deWolf Spurr in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. The letters discuss: children; childhood conditions, including remedies for worms; mid-19th century everyday life for women; relatives; preserving food, particularly fruit; family friends; travel within the province; and the slow delivery of mail. There is also some discussion of Mary Harding's husband John's lumber and shipping business.

There is also a modern hand-drawn map showing the places in northern New Brunswick and Nova Scotia where Spurr and Harding families lived; photocopies of photographs of Mary Harding (1850 -1901); newsclippings of family obituaries; a photograph of the Harding house in Miramichi; and genealogical material including a printed form showing Spurr family lineage.

This fonds consists of Ann Simonds' correspondence and financial papers and other correspondence among Simonds family members. Included are account books relating to Henry George Simonds, 1831-1848.
