Fonds consists of photograph photocopies of Leroux and his tug of war team , Correspondence between Don and trying to get his tug of war team win from 1962 into the Canada Sports Honour Roll . He did not succeed with this . Apparently he waited to many years for this Honor to take place.
Series consists of 12 Folders all identical of records from Don titled "Life in the Army : Souvenirs , Canada, Germany, England, Meaford, Valcartier, Gagetown, Petawawa , Victoria, Chilliwack, tug of war, softball, Hockey , Regimental and City Parades. For years Leroux tried to get the Tug of War Team into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame with out Success . All his correspondence is included.
This Fonds consists of textual records including; sheet music 1939, scrapbook, which contains 16 photographs and newspaper clippings, a book titled 'Holland and the Canadians,' winners of the Queen's Medal (Militia and regular force), The presentation of Colours to the Carleton York Regiment. Also included is 17 photographs consisting of the 8th New Brunswick Hussars engaged in sports competitions during the Second World War, B Squadron of the 28th Dragoon at Camp Sussex in 1913.
This series consists of an interview of Derek McLellan, a member of the 8th New Bruins wick Hussars during World War II. McLellan was training to be a tank commander in England and he wanted a posting to a regiment. There was an opening in the 8th NBH, so he took it. During the Battle of Coriano ridge, their tank was with Major Kierstead's tank and they came under fire and took cover in a creek bed where they became stuck. After nightfall they snuck out from their tanks and proceeded back to the C Squadron lines. Derek was 90 when this interview occurred in 2012, he was living in Saskatchewan.
