This collection consists of Botsford family records donated by 4 different donors. Records relating to Amos Botsford include accounts payable, land records and records of annuities belonging to Deborah Murray. A list of the Loyalist settlement in the Annapolis/Digby area, Nova Scotia includes equipment and tools received from Amos Botsford and names of families. There are also complaints about Amos Botsford's handling of Loyalist claims.

Records relating to William Botsford include his receipt book, 1801-1829, for legal services rendered and testimonials and recommendations written for individuals including one for immigration purposes. There is also a copy of a warrant re William Botsford's salary as assistant judge. Documents pertaining to the Supreme Court case of Robert Crookshank and William Walker v. J. White, George Nowlan, and George Ketchum probably also belonged to William.

There are certificates and other personal papers belonging to Garrad Clopper, Harry G. Botsford of Boston, LeBaron Botsford and Sarah Cyper. Family and business correspondence, 1782-1913. Deeds for Botsford family property from 1797 to 1837 are also included.

There are also ephemeral items including Valentine's Day and other cards, and a printed poem by Maud Botsford entitled, "Our Boys," probably from the First World War. The apprenticeship indenture of Frederick Turner as a clerk and writer to Henry George Clopper of Wakefield, York, Co. N.B. is dated 1827.

There are family and legal papers relating to the Clopper, Murray and Ralph Cook estates. A plan of the Clopper farm in Fredericton is also included.

The letter, dated 20 January 1813, contains a list of supplies that men from the company were supposed to bring with them if assembled in a case of emergency. The list included clothing, a blanket and some sort of carrying case.

This letter is dated 1887 to John Brown from J.B. Snowball, manager of the Chatham Branch Railway notifying Mr. Brown that his claims of property damage by the railway was to be heard by jury summoned under "An Act To Incorporate The Chatham Branch Railway". A meeting was scheduled at the Police Magistrate's Office on 19 September 1887 at 11:00 am.

The fonds contains records of the Royal Progressive Conservative Association for the months leading up to the nominating convention held in September 1960. It includes correspondence, minutes of meetings, and detailed lists of members of the organizing committees for each polling district.

This collection contains photocopies of letters written by Thomas D'Arcy McGee to James Sadlier.

This fonds documents the business and political activities of Peter Mitchell, Jr. It includes business and political correspondence as well as a poem on Mitchell and politics. The fonds also includes financial records -- notes and bills relating to Peter Mitchell's brother, James Mitchell, 1861-1872, and an article, "The Secret History of Canadian Politics."

This fonds contains a photocopy of Mercy Ann Coles' diary, 16 pages.

This is a collection of official appointments received by George Skeffington Grimmer, 1847 - 1973. They include the authority to perform legal functions such as receiver of bail or notary public, as well as appointment as Clerk of various New Brunswick Courts. Arrangement is chronological.

This fonds documents J. Chester MacRae's military, political and teaching careers.

It consists of three typescript volumes of informal memoirs prepared from diaries he kept. The volumes are rich in personal anecdotes of MacRae's activities and those of his friends and acquaintances.

The fonds also contains photocopies of formal documentation, photographs and newspaper clippings.

This fonds consists of a letterbook (1882-1892) containing copies of letters written by George Hibbard on business matters and constituency affairs, particularly roads. A considerable number of letters relate to the Lake George Antimony Company, located in York County, of which he was secretary-treasurer. Included also is his discharge from the militia, dated 1872.
