The fonds consists of 1 volume of records of liquor offences which occurred in the City and County of Saint John, New Brunswick during the period 1913-1917. The offences took place in the parishes of Lancaster, Simonds, and St. Martins. Information includes names of offenders, the stipendary magistrates, and the chief inspectors as well as the nature of the offence, the fines levied and the parish. There are several repeat offenders in these records. Offences included keeping liquor for sale or barter and selling liquor without a license.

Bills, account statements, receipts, and notes related to the debt cases are also often attached.

Almost half the legal cases relate to Hazen's roles as solicitor of the Commercial Bank and recorder for the city of Saint John.
