This fonds documents Daniel McGruar's business activities, and letters to his son Thomas. It includes business financial records, correspondence, ships' manifests, and documents relating to lodges and temperance societies.

This fonds consists of 25 letters written by Lord Beaverbrook to James H. Critchley, 11 of which related to Critchley's work in selecting books for the UNB Law Library or pertain to his personal donations. Fourteen of the letters are personal notes from Beaverbrook in which he expresses concern over Critchley's health problems, thanks Critchley for gifts received, or sent with gifts for Critchley. Also included is a photocopy of a letter sent by Beaverbrook to J.H. Critchley's widow, Margaret, and son, Cyril, in which he described Critchley as an "intimate friend".

This fonds also includes a photograph of James Critchley as well as biographical information compiled by John Critchley.

This fonds documents aspects of Raymond Souster's literary activities during the mid-1960s. It includes correspondence concerning the publication of two books of poetry Ten elephants on Yonge Street (Ryerson Press, 1965) and New wave Canada: The new explosion in Canadian poetry (Contact Press, 1966), revised drafts of poems for inclusion in the books, and manuscript copies of them.

Several files containing edited, typescript copies of Souster's poems; four note books of hand-written poems authored by Souster during 1965, and bound manuscript copies of New workings: new versions of some uncollected poems (1973), and The way it looks from here: new and uncollected poems (1973) created by Souster are also included in the fonds. File 2 contains a hand-written five-page document titled "Ten Elephants" which discusses the book of the same name, file 3 contains a four-page text called "Combustion" which seems to have been written for the magazine's "limited reprinting in two bound volumes ... by Victor Coleman's Island Press" and file 5 contains a four-page manuscript "Some afterthoughts on Contact Magazine" which appears in Contact 1952 - 1954. Being an index to the contents of Contact ... by Michael Gnarowski (Montreal: Delta Canada, 1966).

This fonds consists of account book sheets kept in connection with Herbert H. Gunter's Fredericton law practice. These sheets record names of clients, legal services performed, fees, and disbursements.

This fonds documents Oswald Crocket's political and personal activities. It reflects his involvement with his constituency, particularly in relation to the militia, rural mail contracts, public works, election campaigns, and the Intercolonial Railway as well as his political activities in relation to government departments and agencies, such as fisheries, Indian affairs, inland revenue, the interior, justice, labour, Civil Service Board, and King's Printer.

The fonds consists of political and family correspondence, materials relating to the St. Andrew's Society of Fredericton (1830s-1950s), and newspaper clippings.

The bulk of this fonds documents the literary career of John Reade. It includes correspondence and manuscripts, as well as newspaper clippings and scrapbooks of Reade's poems, certificates of John Reade's ordination (as a deacon and as a priest), affidavits, and biographical articles. Several letters are from Charles G D Roberts (1885) and Archibald Lampman (1889); there is also correspondence from F R Robinson regarding John Reade's leaving the ministry.

This fonds also contains correspondence addressed to and written by individuals other than John Reade, some of which is on a religious theme. Personal items include Annie Reade's diplomas, Mary Reade's will, Reade family photographs and an autograph book inscribed to John Reade from George Sully

This fonds documents the literary career of Harry Howith. It includes incoming and outgoing correspondence, manuscripts, typescripts of college essays and poems, and published material.

This fonds consists of a letter book containing copies of John Harvey's confidential letters to Lord Durham during the period that Durham was Governor General of British North America (29 May to 29 September 1838). Harvey discusses the need for reform, supports Durham's actions and discusses the Maine boundary issue.

This fonds contains five letters to John Clarence Webster from M. I. Stevenson, the mother of Robert Louis Stevenson, which reveal Webster's connection with the Stevenson family and throw light on his possession of the "testimonials" and other items. The fonds also contains a framed memorial and several photos of R. L. Stevenson.
