The fonds consists of microfilmed business records, including an accounts ledger (1830-1838) for the tannery business operated by Asa and Oliver Willard (A. & O. Willard) at Newcastle and an order book (1861-1862) for the general mercantile establishment of Patten & Willard. Goods ordered included foodstuff, clothing, footwear, and household goods.

There is also a 14-page, pocket-sized account book (textual), 1836-1844, for the purchase of general merchandise. The names of customers, dates of transactions, items purchased, sums charged, and payments made are noted.

The fonds consists of the general business and financial records of Shaw and Ellis, Limited covering a period of 60 years.

It includes business correspondence, orders, purchase slips, inspection reports, time books and payroll sheets, store and factory stock inventories, and insurance records. Financial records include invoices, bills of lading, day books, daily statements of income and expenses, ledgers, ledger sheets, factory expense accounts, cash and store accounts, bank statements, and tax records. Legal records and accounts relating to the Benjamin Carter estate (1940) are also included. The fonds also contains a few photographs and postcards, which are located in P1/84 and P2/259.

Fonds includes architectural plans for the following public buildings: New Gaol, Saint John (1841); Fever Island, Partridge Island (1848); Markethouse, Saint John (1837); Partridge Island Hospital (1848); St. Andrew's, New Brunswick, Gaol [1839]; Henry Gilbert's house, Saint John [1822], and Congregational Church, Saint John. The latter plans were drawn for the Rev. G. C. Gallaway.

This fonds consists of the administrative records of the Nurses Association of New Brunswick, dating from the 1940s. It contains correspondence, minutes of meetings, applications for registration, internal communiqués, certificates of recognition, legal records, and financial records, including year-end statements and information on dues, fundraising, and funding of educational and preventative health intervention programmes. There is also information on accreditation, creation of professional standards, professional examinations, professional conduct, nursing research, conferences, and symposia. The fonds also contains material relating to district and city chapters of the NANB, including those located at Bathurst, Campbellton, Chatham, Edmundston, Fredericton, Lancaster, Moncton, Newcastle, Saint John, St. Stephen, Woodstock, and Charlotte County and to various internal and external committees, notably, System Efficiencies for New Brunswick Healthcare, Editorial Advisory Committee, and Wellness in the Workplace. Also included are manuals, newsletters, bulletins, and other materials pertaining to public relations and the media.

Violette family fonds

This fonds consists of personal, business, financial, and legal records relating to the Violette family, particularly, A. J. Violette and his sons, Émile and Léonard. It includes personal, business, political, and military correspondence; telegram message booklets; certificates; licenses; and insurance policies. Business and financial records include two account books recording liquor sales; one account book each for the woodworking factory, Len's Service Station, and the Brunswick Hotel or Hotel Brunswick (wages); statements of account and balance sheets for The Hammond hotel; bills charged to the various businesses; receipts; bank books; bank statements; cancelled cheques; cheque stubs; and pages from the register of the Hotel Brunswick. Legal records include deeds, contracts, agreements, a bill of sale for the schooner "Grace & Lou", and documents relating to violations of the liquor acts. There are also pamphlets, booklets, and posters pertaining to rationing or recruitment of men and women for service in the Second World War.
