The Burpee Papers, which date from 1814 to 1949, are largely made up of Charles Burpee's correspondence in which political discussions play a major role. A great deal of information on Sunbury County matters and personalities can also be found in the letters. Material, which is not correspondence, is found at the end of the collection, and includes legal papers, notes for speeches, and general information on the Burpee family.

Fonds consists mainly of documents related to McCain family-owned businesses during the period of 1815-1967. Contained within the fonds are ledgers, account books, notebooks, receipts, and business correspondence with company associates. Family correspondence is shared by the following McCain family members: Andrew, Hazel, Henry and his wife, Mary, Muriel, Hugh Gordon, Billy, Hugh John, and John McCain. Photographs, dated 1880 to1931, show family members. Also included in the fonds are maps which show the locations of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Glassville, NB; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Carleton County, NB.

This fonds consists of a letterbook (1882-1892) containing copies of letters written by George Hibbard on business matters and constituency affairs, particularly roads. A considerable number of letters relate to the Lake George Antimony Company, located in York County, of which he was secretary-treasurer. Included also is his discharge from the militia, dated 1872.

This fonds consists of the letters patent appointing F. B. Carvell Minister of Public Works

This fonds documents William J. West's career as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Brunswick. It consists of more than 400 individual case files containing correspondence, judgments, notes, briefs, and other legal documents. The fonds also includes miscellaneous legal correspondence (1952-1967), lists of barristers, and dockets, as well as correspondence, speeches, and newspaper clippings relating to his political career.

Lastly, the fonds contains personal correspondence, personal legal records, genealogical notes on the West family, a transcript of an interview with William West, invitations to social functions, family photographs, newspaper clippings, and materials pertaining to riverboats and steamships on the St. John River.

This fonds consists of a manuscript book by Walter White about his militia memories from 1884 to 1942. It makes reference to the contingent sent to the Boer War from Saint John and describes White's experiences during the Halifax Explosion.

This fonds documents the activities of the York County (NB) Constituency Council of the CCF between 14 July 1944 and 13 September 1947. It includes a record book containing minutes of meetings, accounts of payments and expenditures, and pledges and donations for the Campaign Fund. There is also a file of miscellaneous CCF-related items that includes notices and agendas of meetings for the York County Constituency Council, financial statements, a letter from the Upper Hainesville CCF Club with an attached list of officers' and members' names, financial statements, and newspaper clippings. There is also a four-page leaflet, published by the federal Progressive Conservative Party, entitled "Let the record speak".

This report was prepared for Lieutenant-Governor Arthur Hamilton Gordon by Lieutenant-Colonel J.A. Inches on 24 May 1866. It discusses in detail the activities of the Fenians in the Calais, Maine, and St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on 23 and 24 May 1866.

The fonds contains the records of three candidates of the Parti Acadien: Réjean Comeau, Réal Gendron and Rose-Anna Leblanc. It includes flyers, campaign ads in newspapers, press clippings, memos and correspondence, and miscellaneous materials. The published platform of the party is also included.
