The fonds consists of microfilm copies of shipping registers for New Brunswick from 1824-1875. The registers detail the cargo, crew manifests and specifications for commercial marine vessels. Also included are records of calls at regulated commercial ports and British registry lists, including forms of endorsement for changes of ships' masters.

McCarthy Family

This fonds consists of McCarthy family correspondence and accounts (1867-1912). Most letters prior to 1900 are between the siblings, but also include correspondence from other individuals regarding payments. The families correspondence provides insight into life in New Brunswick and parts of the United States and reveals how close knit the family was. Their letters deal with a variety of topics, including cholera, education, working in the woods, staple supplies, legal issues, and visits to family members. After 1900, most of the letters are between members of the next generation, especially Patrick McCarthy's children. These letters discuss work in the timber industry, leisure activities, the winter weather, and family news. This fonds also contains records of the families accounts, an inventory of John McCarthy's estate (1892) and a penmanship book belonging to Patrick's brother-in-law, George Smith.

This collection contains the administrative records of the New Brunswick Woman's Christian Temperance Union, of the New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Woman's Christian Temperance Union, and of branch unions located in Woodstock and Fredericton and one receipt book (dated 1883 etc.) for the Porland branch union. It includes minutes of branch meetings and annual conventions, agendas for annual conventions, correspondence, financial records, and reports. Also included are historical notes on the WCTU; yearbooks; copies of convention reports for WCTU associations in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia; handbills; advertisements; and newspaper clippings.

Moore and DeWolfe family

This collection consists of correspondence, legal documents, Frank Flemington's manuscripts and printed material.

The correspondence ranges from 1829 to 1945, but it is almost all family letters, the bulk to and from Mary Louisa Moore in the 1870s and 1880s. Most of the letters discuss family news and business, social events and religious activities. There are a few letters from the 1820s and 1830s between Edward DeWolfe and the New Brunswick government over questions of land ownership. Also included are letters from Sarah Wade, a pioneer in the Aroostook area, to her sister in St. David. There is also some correspondence from Leonard Scott, editor of "Blackwood's Magazine" in New York.

The legal documents include deeds, family marriage and baptismal records and some accounts (1847-1880), relating to the operations of the family mill at Moores Mills and a family-owned general store. Frank Flemington's papers include genealogical notes and charts, transcriptions of the records in the collection and an unpublished biography of John Moore. There is also a photograph album with captions added by family members.
